The Green Executive® was founded in 2017 by landscape industry veteran Adam Linnemann. As a successful lawn care and landscaping entrepreneur, Adam Linneman learned the value of planning early on. Without a solid plan, how do you measure success? How do you get there in the first place?

While it’s awfully cliche to talk about the need for planning, we feel it’s important to delve into the details and go beyond simply using the phrase. Planning is crucial to the success of any business because it:

• Helps increase efficiency – Planning allows you to utilize your resources as effectively as possible.
• Aids in organization – Without a plan, you’re simply taking a shot in the dark. Weigh out all of the possible outcomes ahead of time and create a strategy to deal with them, which helps you to avoid unpredictable outcomes.
• Decreases liabilities – ‘Winging it’ in business can become dangerous, especially in the lawn care industry. By having a plan and enforcing adherence to the plan, there’s less room for error. Ultimately, this can save you from financial hardship, headaches, and even tragic circumstances when a careful plan is thought out and implemented accordingly.
• Accountability – Planning makes it easier to hold people accountable. When a team member strays from the plan, things start to veer off track. Fortunately, a plan provides many opportunities for coaching and constructive criticism. Furthermore, a clearly-defined plan helps employees achieve outcomes that align with your mission and vision.
